Yesterday was Lily's Birthday. We had a small party at Grammy's house with just the immediate family. Our family is growing by leaps and bounds. We can't all fit in one house and the heat won't allow us to do much outdoors. Next year will be different. We will be in a house and will definitely have the pool up, that way we won't have to limit the invites.
Lily was a super star for her special day. She soaked up every ounce of undivided attention. I was afraid she may be overwhelmed at moments but she was a trooper. She received lots of gifts that we still need to sort through and put away. A friend made Lily's cake and cups cakes for the guests. It was all delicious, there's none left :). Grandma Kathy ordered the decorations which really dressed up the house and looked nice. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.
On to Lily's latests: Lily has been completely off of formula and on whole milk for quite some time now. Bye-bye baby foods since she was about 10mos. This little child has an appetite. She is still picky at times... but man does she love food. She is minutes away from walking. She has taken a few steps but as soon as she realizes what she is doing she sits down. She pushes everything around the house. Lily just cut 2 more top teeth earlier this week bringing our total to 8, but I think more are on the way. She is gnawing on everything.
I have thought this but family members have confirmed it...Lily must not have been able to hear very well prior to getting the tubes put it. The dr. said a while back she could have been experiencing mild to moderate hearing loss. Well, since last week and switch has been flipped. Lily is a jabbering fool!!!! Everyday she seems to be trying to say something new or just talking in her secret language. She tries to say "Hi Kitty" at the back door when she sees that cat. "Hi Fishies" at my parents computer when the fish tank screen saver is active. "Mama" and "Dada" are more and more often and used at the right time. Oh and she sings with Zeke...or shall I say they "howl" together.
1 year has come and gone quite fast but we are excited for more milestones!
